George Stavrakakis is a Research Assistant at the Remote Sensing Lab of FORTH. He holds a BSc degree in Physics from the University of Crete and a joint MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence and Visual Computing from the University of West Attica and the University of Limoges. His research focuses on machine learning and image-processing methods for the analysis and classification of hyperspectral and remote sensing imagery, with particular interest in urban material mapping. He also develops Python-based tools and workflows for spectral analysis, geospatial data processing and image classification.
